Jazz has no boundaries. European Jazz Bridge is
a perfect proof for this statement. Leading Hungarian jazz artists
invite exciting European musicians to their groups. 1st May, the
anniversary of Hungary joining the European Union, is traditionally
the day of our jazz festival. On the stage located on the Lower
Embankment in Pest, between Columbus Jazz Club and Vigadó Square,
the emblematic figures of various generations and styles of jazz
will give concerts from 11 a.m. till midnight.
The performers will include Jens Winther from
Denmark, leader of the international Electric Winther Jazz, the
many-sided young guitar player Andreu Zaragoza from Spain, the
leading Israeli pianist-professor and festival director Dan Gottfried,
Alegre Corréa, guitarist of former Zawinul Syndicate, two briliant
saxophone players: Mornington Lockett from Great-Britain and Rosario
Giuliani from Italy. Certainly, the most creative Hungarian jazz
musicians will also be present from Szakcsi to László Dés and Mihály
Borbély, from Gyula Babos to Kornél Horváth and Kálmán Oláh, and
also the best artists of the new generation from Tzumo to Gábor
Bolla and Márton Fenyvesi. The highlight of the event will surely
be the Budapest Jam starting in Columbus, where the audience can
listen to the musicians play the music of joy.
